| Hi folks. I may need to try and set up a website soon, but haven't got a clue where to start. I'll read through some of the threads later to get a better handle on things. In the meantime, is the above product any good as a first start? What are it's limitations or drawbacks? Cheers.

Hey, Just bought Webplus X2 actually!
Afraid i havent gotten around to using it in anger yet, but it seems to have retained some of the "Desktop Publisher" feel i remember from Webplus 8 i used to use, which was amazingly simple to build a good WYSIWYG sort of site without any need to know or understand what HTML even stands for!
X2 looks to have a lot more features though which you just add in from the tool bar photogalleries, framed pages, e-shopping stuff.
As it was being paid for by a company who's website im about to start on I went for the Business templates which adds a lot more variety to the template choices, but im not sure its worth the money as i'll probably be deleteing half of it anyway in favour of some original layout & design!
For the money I think its a sound investment (esp. as it wasnt my money) compared to the nightmare i remember as Frontpage or the cost of Dreamweaver!
That said this is just my impression from a half hours flick through of the options, not employed it in anger so far!
Hope that helps!
Dave
PS. if there is anything specific you'd like us to check it has/hasnt got just give a shout!

| Thanks very much for the info Dave, very useful. I got an email from Serif (I get stuff from them occasionally) offering it around the £35 mark and I thought it might be worth giving it a whirl. Won't hurt at that price... Cheers, Steve.

Yeah, that was my line of thinking, it should be good value for money! £35 is a bargain though, think i paid £55ish direct from Serif downloads.
