Just reading this weeks mag and saw there add with a q6700 advertised at 10.64Ghz. I thought about reviving the 9Ghz thread for this but thought better of it , but isn't this just a massive marketing con to suck in the unitiated. It gets worse with an E4600 advertised at 4.8 Ghz. Now that is one seriously impressive overclock on some quality equipment or lining up someone to be bitterly dissappointed.
Cheers, Keith.

It's just advertising the speed of all cores combined. You see it on ebay a lot.

I was under the impression that AVG Free and OpenOffice are free to the end user, but never to be preinstalled with the intention of raising a products value, as it's profiteering on whats meant to be a free program.

It's lying, pure and simple. No part of an E4600 runs at 4.4GHz. No part of a Phenom 9500 runs at 8.8GHz.
My car has a top speed of 125MPH. That's 500MPH if you add the speeds of all four wheels together. That doesn't make it a 500MPH car, does it.
Cheers, Slipstreem.
System specs: "Phoenix" - Intel C2D E4500 overclocked to 3GHz with ACF7Pro HSF on Volt-modded ASRock 775Dual-VSTA mobo (modded BIOS rev 3.10A and VNB=1.65, Vagp=1.8), 2x1GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2-800 RAM (3.0,3,3,8,1T @546MHz), Sapphire ATI HD3870 512MB GDDR4 PCIe graphics card overclocked to 850MHz GPU & 2.4GHz RAM. Powered by Hiper Type-M 580W PSU. Guess who likes overclocking on a budget.

They should have said it contains 4.4GHz of processing power. To be honest the site looks shoddy and I would not buy from them even if I was new to computing. First impression and all.
