not sure i'm in the right place. when i attempt to share drives folders etc , explorer stalls and i have resort to task manager to get back to normal. i run a fujitsu siemens laptop which carries an application called launch manager. if i don't run this application the problem goes away. however this application controls amongst other things the wifi key. so without it no wifi
internet or network. any suggestions please.

I'm assuming by wireless key you mean the WEP or WPA key (security key). If so, just make a note of the key and disable the software. Run the Windows wireless setup wizard and enter the key there and you should have no problems

See if there's an update for the software.

i seem to have the latest version which came from the fujitsu support website. very difficult to find any download elsewhere. still looking. having further fiddled i find that with the wifi switched off i have no problem. i'm begginning to wonder if its intentional. a further piece of vista security ?
