QX9775 Socket Expand / Collapse

The QX9775 is a socket LGA771 and my E6600 is a socket LGA775, am I right in thinking this is another new socket and the 2 are not directly swappable.

Not new. It's the server socket, for Skulltrail. The new sockets will arrive with Nehalem (Core i7).

No, and never will be. The equivalent chip for Socket 775 is the QX9770.
