| My brother-in-law has just acquired a hairdressing business and would like to offer wi-fi to his customers, he has asked me to set it up for him, which I am able to do with no problem. My question is what would you recommend, a network using consumer equipment ie. a home network with wireless router or business targeted equipment ie. signing up with a wi-fi business provider. Thanks in advance. PS - Just an afterthought, what would the security implications be for each type of network?

| Security implications - nightmare if it's just "open". I would use a "hot spot" kit. Doesn't mean you have to charge, but each customer gets their own ticket with their own log information. If you fancy a bit of DIY, software here for how to turn the £40 Linksys WRT54GL into a hotspot http://usemynet.biz/

Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you, but my connection went down . Anyway, thanks for your advice I'll certainly look into the "hotspot" idea.Cheers.
