| Hi guys im in a bit of a hole and I cant get out, basically I picked up a nasty case of a trogen and in wiping it of it heavily damaged files on my OS the main one being explorer.exe , which doesnt load on startup it does manually but that no good , ive been doing a bit of googling and I need to repair it but I cant figure out how, So can anyone help.

Have you got a proper XP CD or a recovery disk?

| Insert your Winxp cd and bootup the pc - Run the repair console and it will reinstall all your major system files, which should include explorer.exe MrJ

to late I started again a fresh just wish I hadnt erased the partition on my storage drive DOH!!!

In future a repair will solve it. Make sure you don't use the Recovery Console though, unless you have a spare PC to get the commands you want to run.
