Right, what a mess channeling stuff into walls makes. I had no idea. Well, I had some idea as the sparky had warned me it made a lot of dust. But this much dust! Dust? Total mess more like...
Anyway I now have the channels dug in the walls and the cables go in tomorrow. My current setup is going to have to be the following (until I board out the attic and have a phone line put up there) and I was wondering if I might experience bandwidth problems. Dont really know what I am talking about.
I will have a 10/100 switch in the roof. Into this will be plugged one Mythbuntu PC (when I get the bug*er working), one Windows PC and one Windows Laptop, all via cat6 cables and useing standard 100mbps cards. From the switch's uplink another cat6 will goto the ADSL 2/2+ modem/router.
As I said I dont know much about networking and I was thinking that being in the position of having three PC's connected to the net via one switches uplink could cause some problems. Just want to know.....

| If you want to stream full screen video to all 3 at once you may have problems, but whatever was serving it up would probably be the weakest link even with Gigabit networking. I doubt very much you'll have any problems at all. All the Corporate LANs I work on still have 10/100 to the desktop and they're dealing with (typically) 100 - 200 PCs. Ok it's fancier kit with some fancy techniques, but you get my drift
