Hi
can anyone help with a little problem im having.
My pc wont play dvds, whether they be on disc or on the HDD. I have power dvd installed, but niether media player or power dvd will play any dvds. both programs just throw up the "this program has encountered an error and needs to close." error.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what it could be.
Thanks in advance

I suggest VLC
If you want to use those programs specifically, you can try reinstalling PowerDVD. If it still doesn't then try K-Lite Codec Pack. It should install a Codec for PowerDvd and Windows Media Player to use (though Powerdvd ought to have its own)

| If FS's suggestions don't resolve your problem, it might also be worth checking for updated GPU drivers. If you're still no better off you could try reducing the hardware acceleration by a few notches. I recently had a PC here that froze when trying to play DVDs, reducing the hardware acceleration was the only way to get them to play. Mike
