I would like an archive on dvd too, how about adding to the cover price for one week only to pay for it? yes the articles are on this site but what if your internet connection is down etc?, how about a readers poll to see wether it would be worth it.

| Looks like this will never happen seeing as this topic was started in 2003.

Count me in! It's almost essential. I notice that computeractive charge £14.95. A MM cd would be an absolute steal at this price, athough £4.95 (or less) would be even better!

We've - touch wood - made real progress on this, and have a target price of £9.99 per quarterly disc (we're struggling to fit all that on at the moment). More news, hopefully, very shortly.

An MM CD - Brilliant! Bring it on and quickly - I have literally stacks of old MM mags which I could then send for recycling. I don't want to throw them out because I find they contain little gems of info - even though it takes an age to go through them. A CD (or DVD even) of the MM archive would be invaluable!
Do you have any plans to back-date the archive initially? Say for the last 18 months?

I think you are suggesting that the archive is compressed - but that would make it less accessible. It would first have to be unzipped and placed on the Hard Drive before you could read it. The beauty of a normal CD/DVD is that it can quickly be popped into the drive and then accessed with an html menu immediately.
