Some years ago, Micro Mart ran an 'advert' for quite some time for a Microfair in South Molton Lane (or some name like that), off Oxford Street. Supposedly open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

I tried on four different occasions to locate this place, walking all round the small block.
I saw neither the fair, nor even a suitable venue.
Asking local traders if they knew of it, all they said was that countless would-be visitors on each of the advertised days, asked the same question. They were really peeved about it.
After chasing this 'Wild Goose' four times, so was I!

Now there seems to be another one which is currently advertised in Micro Mart:
"Wembley...every Sunday.....opposite the Market, in Engineers way"
Well over a year ago, someone handed me a flyer about it whilst I was heading for one of the London fairs.
I have been through that part of Wembley quite a lot since then - and on Sundays.
Three of these times, I have tried to find this alleged microfair, obviously without success.

Local persons directing Market traffic didn't know of it. People walking around various parts of that block hadn't seen it. And no usual banners or other 'lamp posted' directions were seen.

Do I live in a parallel world where everything is the same - other than these exceptions, or is this yet another 'Red Herring', which we can feed to that Wild Goose I mentioned earlier?

I am from Halifax, West Yorkshire. I went down to London just after Christmas with a friend. We decided to find a couple of fairs whilst we were there. Not knowing much about London, we obviously came across several problems.

One fair we went to was at the UCL, and we had quite some problems finding it. In the end, we got to the location the map suggested - but we found 1 person was there to greet us with leaflets sending us to another location The leaflet was crep, and we found ourselves going backwards and forwards. Eventually we got their, and the fair itself was not as good as those in Leeds and Bradford.

I presume this is more of a problem with the Advertisers, rather than the guys at MCM.

Well, Sam.
We cannot argue, prices are far cheaper in Leeds or Bradford, or Manchester or any other place north of Brum, than in the London area!

However, of the fairs in the Tottenham Ct. Rd. area, the three venues simultaneously hosted by BCF including UCL, are by far the best.
If you go to the UCL one first, you get into all 3 free at the moment. Otherwise it is just £1.
Check their website first, though.

Next time you're in Londonistan (as it is now cynically called), the best one is at Stratford, East London, Sats and Suns.
