Hi Simon,
I realise that it is probably out of your hands, but that is some price rise that Micromart Magazine has made this week.
I am rather surprised at a price rise above 10%, when the current rate of inflation is at it's lowest for the last 30yrs.. I don't see any circulation figures in the Mag., how have these fared over the past 6 months ? Are they up, or down ?
Yes, I realise that you can save a lot by subscribing, but I am selective with my reading, and admit to missing the odd issue if there is nothing relevant to my interests. --- (not so many though)
It is still fairly good value, and does have the best Private and Company Classified ads ,., of any of the computer mags., on the market. The articles, reviews and tutorials, it goes without saying, are second to none, and it is refreshing to have a weekly, rather than monthly magazine.
But come on Guys, you are bucking the trend. After all, everything else in the computer retail market has drastically reduced in price, over the past 12 month.
If you are reading this on your laptop from Barbados or Bali Simon, just to let you know, it is d****d cold here.
Best wishes, and a Happy New Year to you and the team,
Alan.

Laptop in Barbados? You must be kidding. I'm still here with my P333 in Birmingham!

I know it's standard stuff to say that a price rise was out of your hands, and that you wish it didn't have to happen, but I can assure you that genuinely this is the case. Our costs have risen, and whereas in the past we've been able to absorb a lot of them, it's not possible this time.

So I do apologise for the price rise - we're working even harder to deliver you a good, value for money magazine, and we do appreciate your continue support.

Simon

You have got a cheek calling me stingy Steve. --- You wait to see if you have had a mention in the current issue, before you will go and buy it ! --- and if you lived near me, --- you would probably come round and read mine.
sorry about that Simon, have to slap Stevie down sometimes.
What about circulation figures, what are the trends ? Up this year, or unchanged. Unlickely to be down.
You have our heartfelt sympathies if you are in Brummingham, I lived and worked in Aston ( Flights ) for a couple of years, - gosh, doesn't time fly, --- it's over 30 years ago ! I left just as the problems were starting in Handsworth.- (I enjoyed my time there really.)
Best Wishes, --- Alan.

Gotta say I would have been more surprised if the cover price had gone down . Must say that I enjoy the mag and as it is weekly it's not long to wait 'til the next one . Value for money it surely is and compared to a pint - which down our way has crept well over 2 quid - it lasts a darn sight longer

Thanks for your points. John, sorted your prize out this morning by the way.

And don't you knock sunny Birmingham - our football team may even get promoted this year......(ahem)...!

I cant see the problem with the price, it is very good value for money, and as a loyal reader i will keep on buying the mag no matter how much the price rises.

Just be glad you were not reading the incredibly thin AmigActive at £5.99 an issue...
