As far as I can remember they were 2.5" lap-top drives. I`m sitting here looking at an 85meg that came out of one of my A1200s. It`s a Seagate ST9100A. Not sure what the connector is but this is diagram of the pin config:-
...................... .. ............ ......... .. <- These 4 possibly for the jumper.
Not sure which end pin 1 is though.
You would be hard pushed to find anything that small now though.

'E' is for Ethernet. Used for catching Etherbunnies, Etherfish or Etherbutterflies.

No wonder there`s so much poop on my PC these days.

| I've got an A1200 + 4GBHD + 68030 Blizzard 1230MkIV + FPU + SCSI. On 2 seperate occasions when it wouldn't boot (usually after being moved for dusting) I feared the HD might be failing so I opened up the case to check the HD cable is fitted firmly and gently pressed the 2 Kickstart ROMS under the keyboard down to get them seated better in their sockets and hey presto - it booted OK again. Might not work for you but its worth a try as it's a free fix. I think as Kickstart ROMS can work loose over time through temperature cycles and the machine being moved about and this can cause boot failures. Hope this helps

Chip creep, I think it`s called. Caused by the stresses of the components heating then cooling, eventually making there way loose. Happened on my 1200 a few times.

| I have used this web myself in the past, great for Amiga second hand stuff. Buying or selling. I think there's 1 or 2 3Gb HDD on at the moment? Amiga hardware coming and going all the time. http://www.amibench.com/ A bit about the Amiga HDD On the bottom of the above page is a link for Home and Amiga free help, dated 2005 so may be out of date?

| The HDD interface in the A1200 and A600 is a standard IDE 2.5" interface. Most drives will work - just be aware that anything bigger than 4GB is pointless unless you are running OS3.5 or above (generally) and that a lot of the drives expect to be in a PC and don't spin up fast enough to enable a cold boot (due to the Amiga wanting to access the drive befopre a PC would need to). If you connected the 2.5" drive out of an Amiga into a PC with a 2.5"-3.5" adaptor kit and ran Amiga Forever/WinUAE the drive should be fully accessible.
