Hi, everyone
Many of you who read MM regularly will know that in recent weeks I've been "advertising" a get-together in the much-underused MM chatroom. This is taking place tomorrow, 8th April (Thursday), between 7:30pm and 8:30pm. I'll be there, hoping to swap tales of computer woe and other nonsense, so please pop in and say hello. I'm gonna look a proper fool if I'm the only one who shows up!
All the best
Jason (quixote2002)

Well thanx for the info!
I entered the room tried to talk, but the page didn't display properly with my Mozilla Browser, and therefore didn't work.
At least I could see the other 8 or so talking to each other, and it continued beyond the 8:30 expected finish time
Well done Jason!

G'day, Captain
Yes, we saw you log into the room, but you never said anything -- I guess we now know why! Sorry I couldn't provide you with any info. beforehand -- I didn't know one way or the other whether your setup would work. I guess your experiences are useful to us all now, though -- we know your setup DIDN'T work!
Judging by the number of people I've seen in the room before (1 or 2), I'd say the meeting was a success (the thing actually crashed at my end -- overload?). I certainly plan to try it again. Does anyone have a preferred day or time?
Thanx
Jason

No specific time suits, although while the missus is watching Eastenders /Coronation Street is good for me.
Have you thought about trying to go for a theme, maybe something along the lines of a particular forum group perhaps. Networking, Windows, Technical etc. You may get away with advertising the evenings event in the respective forum to get more interest from those which tend to only read a few forum groups only!

You could look at once a week have a 'Webcast'.
Like the BBC have a 'SixFourm' when the news is on.

Hi Jason
Missed the chatroom experience, but it is a brilliant idea!
If you could get a forum section for 'Forthcoming Chats'
and make announcements of the next one there, you might get more than 8 people in there.
You could almost run them as MM readers surgeries, do not know if Simon could swing the money side to get you writers on line giving advice or what have you, for the odd 2 hours, but the idea is brilliant.
Again sorry I missed it.

Hi Jason (quixote2002),
I'm a regular reader of Micro Mart. Having read in issue 793 of MM about your planned get-together in the chat room on the 8th April, I was eagerly awaiting for the time to come (ask a few questions). Unfortunately, I was unable to attend. So can you tell me if this is going to be a regular thing ? or was it a one off ?
Many-Thanks
Jason
