Those of you who have been following my distress over my dyeing hard disc this week (Western Digital 20Gb PATA affectionately known Wendy), as and the apparent loss of a 600 point WU, may be saddened to learn that she failed @ 10:15pm last night  . She had been my humble servant over the past 9 years and gave me many hours of frustration but also many hours of seamless enjoyable gameplay. Her imminent departure forced the purchase of a newer, faster sleeker unit (Seagate 80Gb SATA aka Sally), who has now been initiated into the core of my setup, if she gives me the length of service Wendy did, I will be a happy bunny  . Before shuffling off her mechanical coil, Wendy tried desperately to give one final glorious display my managing to (through corrupting data files) retrieve and send the missing WU data, I'm happy to say she managed  . Her display of fortitude through aversion is testament to her build quality and the data she retrieved will forever be contained in my folding score  , now that she is in silicon heaven I hope she feels proud, as I am of her. Let her bravery be noted by all, when all seems hopeless and lost, and corruption is all around, fear not my fellow Folders, perseverance has it's own rewards and missing data isn't always lost . Tom, I'm back in the running and ready to catch you. . Let the games commence!

Oh Frosty, if only we were all blessed with the longevity of products like you. My Exclestor 40gb has karked it last week after less than three years. I have yet to test it properly, but it's doing some strange things that's all I can say. We feel your loss, and shall mourn at an appropriate time. RIP Wendy. Roger.
