| Thanks guys! System is a E4400 running at stock speed on Asrock 4Core Dual Vsta Board with 2 Gigs of 675mhz Corsair XMS2 Ram. Graphics card is a ATI Sapphire 3650 GDDR3 512MB. Downloaded the GUI client for now but may switch to the console client when I learn more about it. Is it possible to utilise both cores with the GUI client or not? Cheers, Whiskey.

| Hello and welcome. With a Quad you'll be flying along, especially if you follow Keiths guide. Just tell the missus off if she reaches for the power button. Thanks for joining our team.

Welcome to folding Whiskey and sidewalker77!
@Whiskey
The GUI client will only utilize one core but it can use both if you run two instances of the GUI client.
If you wanted to, you can try using the SMP client or the GPU2 client which will bring in alot more points.
I would recommend using the GPU2 client in your case.

Thanks Death Guy! So far I have done a couple of units using the Gui client on one core which seemed to take quite a while. Downloaded the latest Gpu2 client last night and my 3650 blasted through a 200 point work unit in no time and it seemed to work fine initially with the Gui client running in the back ground. However, when I turned the machine back on this morning I got a message saying I shouldn't be running two clients at the same time and the Gui client was shut down. I would like to continue running the Gpu2 client but do you know if this has any adverse effects on the Graphics card? Surely running the graphics card at near 100% for hours on end can't be good for it. Any info on such matters would be really helpful. Cheers, Whiskey.
