I seem to be having problems with my maxtor6L300R0 hard drive where normally this show up a capacity of 300Gb it now only shows a capacity of 128GB. The problem satred when i had to do a fresh install of windows xp. but every time i tred to create and format partitions through the setup a lower capacity was given. i tried this in another computer running xp and even disk management shows only half of my disk capacity. i placedhard in my mates computer andmanage to restore the partitons and capacity but again trying to install xp my harddrive capacity halved and my partitons became unknown. i have reset set my bios incase this was causing the problem no joy.

My pc specs as follows:

cpu:1.5 pentium 4
motherboard:emachines 370 board with dublin/award bios
graphics:geforce fx5500 xfx 256mb
Memory:1 gig ddr ram
harddrives:seagate st340810a 40gig (now using a moment until
problem with below drive is sorted)
:maxtor 6L300R0 300 gig

I anyone can help cbecause i am fresh out of ideas. thanx in advance
